Approach

As leaders, the following principles can accelerate our learning :

Being accepting of what is: It is vital that we simply accept what is our current reality without judgement. There is no right and wrong here. Just an acknowledgement of what is present now. This is a powerful place to start on any path of growth, individually, as a team, or as an organisation.

Being reflective AND active: Self-enquiry and reflection can be very insightful, even more so when it is utilised in the material world through real action. Our programmes ensure that deep personal insight translates into meaningful activity.

Being enquiring AND assertive: Whilst the options, solutions, and answers to our own personal challenges in life often do reside within us, sometimes it can be extremely useful for another to offer their perspective for consideration. Our programmes and leadership coaching style reflects this approach.

Being pragmatic and results oriented: Focusing on what will be useful and practical is critical, as is measuring actual results. We are constantly looking for what has shifted. What has been the impact?

Being systematic: Choosing to focus on this and then that, and trying this and then that, usually doesn't make for sustainable change. A comprehensive, thorough, sequenced programme of change is critical.

Being accountable: Participants and coachees are held accountable for the agreements that they make. Progress in these programmes, as in life, is determined by the agreements we make with ourselves and others, to be in new ways and do new things, followed by our adherence to those agreements. An emerging gap between the two represents great grist for the transformative mill, and if it should arise can become the focus of attention on the development programme.

Being present: Growth and integration is made visible by the actions we take now. Our ego would rather we spend a lot of time talking about change without actually doing anything different. Bringing our attention back to the present and focusing on acting now to move the game forward is a critical skill.

Being open to the new and different: Sometimes all of us can find ourselves in situations that we find strange, or listening to distinctions and worldviews that we find unfamiliar or different. This can lead to us becoming closed and either dismissive or cynical. We notice that staying open for longer than we ordinarily would can lead to dramatic insights and growth.
